Have you ever sat around a table with family or really good friends and shared a meal, laughed, smiled, wept, told stories, talked and simply discussed life? There’s something about those moments together that connect all of us. Since before the time of Jesus, Jewish rabbis have taught that every table is an altar—every table is a place where worship happens. It’s where relationships are established or repaired. Community is developed. Guests are welcomed. Forgiveness and peace are extended. It’s where we give thanks to God. Perhaps this is why Jesus referred to the Kingdom of God as a feast. He would often eat with sinners or cook breakfast for his followers—and each time he did, he was revealing the Kingdom of God. To this day in the Middle East, to invite someone to dinner is to extend peace and forgiveness because every table is an altar where you experience God. Today, whether you sit at a table, a bench, a desk, a bar or a picnic rug … I pray that the people with you will experience God in a fresh and tangible way. And may you always need to set a bigger table. • "And people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and recline at table in the kingdom of God." — Luke 13:29 • • • #table #homedecor #altar #dinner #interior #justgoshoot #verseoftheday #biblejournaling #bible #biblestudy #bibleverse #prayers #jesus #christianity #amen #christian #faithful #holyspirit #bibleinphotos #god #jesuschrist #praise #jesussaves #godisgood #fujifilm #fujixseries #tablesetting #tablescape #tabletop #diningroom A post shared by Bible In Photos (@aussiedave) on Nov 12, 2017 at 3:37am PST
