1. In verse 46, Jesus tells the disciples to pray so they won’t give in to temptation. What do you think He meant by “temptation” in this context? How do you think giving in to temptation can affect our lives today?
2. The religious leaders were clearly very threatened by Jesus. Why do you think they had already decided He wasn’t the Messiah? What about Jesus might have seemed so threatening to them? Do you think Jesus could still be seen as a threat today by people in positions of power or influence? Why or why not?
3. What does Jesus’ healing of the high priest’s servants ear tell us about how He views and uses power? How can we reflect that same approach to power and compassion in our everyday lives?
