1. What does this chapter say about the character of God/Jesus?

2. Imagine being in the crowd as Jesus is teaching and meal time is approaching. You may have eaten already what you brought with you. Then Jesus disciples start handing out food to everyone. Where do you think the food came from? Do you think people recognized the miracle?

3. Why do you think the author says in response to Jesus walking on the water: they (the disciples) still didn’t understand the significance of the miracle of the loaves. Their hearts were too hard to take it in. How are the two miracles related?
